What's an Innovateer?

We invented the word Innovateer to combine the concepts of innovation and pioneer, with a smattering of buccaneer too! We like to think it describes our unique skills in developing novel products that solve real problems.

About Innovateer

Background Info

Ian and Steph formed Innovateer Ltd. in November 1995. At that point we had the ridiculous name of Figuredata Computing Ltd. (don't ask!) but we weren't too concerned, concentrating instead on building the company and its client base.

In 2000 we decided to wind the company's operations down while Ian concentrated on setting up and running another company, Calaba Ltd, to develop search and directory services for the mobile Internet. After raising over 3 million Euros for Calaba in 2000 and 2002, Ian sold it to a Swiss company who specialised in building mobile portals for ISPs.

Now Ian has reprised his original role with Innovateer developing new and innovative products and services.
